EPA 608 Type I · Recovery Requirements · Easy
When using a self-contained recovery device on a CFC, HCFC, or HFC small appliance with an operating compressor, what percentage of the refrigerant must be recovered?
Answer: C. 90%
- A70%
- B80%
- C90%✓ Correct
- D100%
Why C is right
With recovery equipment made after November 15, 1993 and the appliance compressor running, you must recover 90% of the refrigerant (80% if the compressor is not running). Evacuating the small appliance to 4 inches of mercury vacuum also meets the requirement.
